It's more expensive than our other choices however, our product tester said it was worth the cost because it's durable and can be able to withstand the most challenging of excursions.
For a light stroller that can handle more rugged terrain, look for three-wheelers. The Thule Shine was a past winner in this category. It's a bit more expensive than our other picks but it's a solid product and has a lot of features (car seat compatible! dual cup holders!) This makes it a worthwhile purchase. The BOB Sport Utility
The BOB Sport Utility is the perfect stroller for parents who want to go off the beaten track and get some exercise. This jogging stoller has pneumatic knobby wheels that are great for running trails, and the handbrake allows you to manage the downhills. It also features a state-of the-art suspension system, a two-step folding design and a huge cargo basket. If you buy the correct adapters you can pair it with the child car seat.
The biggest issue with this stroller is its weight and fold dimensions. It weighs 25 pounds and folds down to 17,850 cubic inches, which is about average for this group of strollers. The size of its footprint means it's not ideal for tight turns or narrow trunk spaces, although it does have a small handle at the back of the basket that you can pull to collapse it into the most compact, flat position.
This stroller is easy to maneuver, despite its size. The front wheel is fitted with a locking mechanism which lets you switch from normal to locked running mode. The handlebar can be adjusted to accommodate different parent heights. It also comes with a wide seat that reclines to nearly flat, and it has a large, vinyl peek-a-boo window that's easy to open and close.

As with the other BOB strollers in this review, the Sport Utility has optional car seat adapters that allow you to use it with various infant car seats. In our tests, it took around 5:24 hours to put together the stroller from unpacking it to being ready to run. The assembly was straightforward, but you will need a Philips screwdriver. The included manual is clear and well-organized, but it's an excellent idea to have one on hand just in case.
The Baby Trend Expedition
Designed with style, safety features and ease of use in mind, this jogger has an adult tray with two cup holders, a covered storage and a swing away child's tray with two cup holders. The adjustable canopy, with its peek-aboo windows and extra-wide ergonomically-shaped handle, provides comfort for both parents. The locking front swivel can be locked to jog, but unlocked for strolling. The large storage basket is perfect for storing the essential items you need to travel with.
In the Strollers test program at Consumer Reports, the Baby Trend Expedition Jogger is a good performer overall, for its price, and gets higher marks than many of its competitors in various categories. This includes the ease of using the 5-point harness, folding and unfolding and adjusting the backrest, engaging the brakes on the wheel, and infant car seat removal and installation (only for compatible models). It has a simple design with a one-handed recline that's deep enough for napping. The canopy cover that has an adjustable ratcheting isn't easy to use. It takes about 8 minutes to put it up, and the instructions are confusing due to multiple languages and confusing illustrations.
The only drawback to this jogger is that it doesn't have suspension, which means it's more prone to bumps than the other all-terrain strollers we've tried. This might cause discomfort for young kids, especially when they're on the verge of a nap. It does have air-filled tires but they don't have the same amount of shock absorption like the rubber wheels that are found on higher-end strollers.
This is a good option for people who don't plan to run frequently however want to move over grass and gravel easily and without problems with curbs or other obstacles. It's also a great option for families with limited space since it folds into an extremely compact unit. It's lighter than a lot of the other strollers we've tested and can fit into spaces that some full-size strollers can't.
Another advantage is that it's much easier to lift and carry than the heavier Joggers we've tested. This is crucial for if you need to lift it in and out of your car trunk regularly or if you are always on the move.
The Nipper Sport V4

This latest version of Out 'n' Around's 3-wheeled stroller designed specifically for jogging, and comes with large 16 pneumatic alloy tyres to tackle even the most difficult paths and tracks. The Nipper is also light and compact, making it easy to fold and transport.
This pushchair is equipped with an adjustable handlebar and front suspension, which makes it ideal for all kinds of terrains. It also has an adjustable recline seat with a removable quilted seat liner as well as the five-point safety harness and hinged bumper bar. It also works with travel systems, meaning you can use it with the Cybex Maxi-Cosi or BeSafe baby car seat.
Another fantastic feature of this buggy is its large front wheel, which helps to ensure a smooth ride for your child. This is important, especially when you're dealing with difficult terrain. It lets the buggy track better and glide better over bumps and dips. Nipper Sport is easy to drive and has one pedal brake. The handlebar features an ergonomic design and a single-pedal easy-lock brake with adjustable steering. The buggy folds up very easily, thanks to the clear instructions and pictures provided in the user's guide.
The Nipper Sport is suitable for children who are older than of six months. It can be used with a newborn due to its built-in infant insert. However, it isn't recommended for use with babies under six months because the harness of the seat isn't secure enough to secure them.
The pushchair is also without a storage basket under the seat. It has a small shopping pouch to the rear of the seat, but it would not be large enough for the size of a large bag for changing. It is very easy to open and close. Two hand-holds are required to open the plastic catch that is located on either side of the lower frame. There is a third lock catch on the handlebar in red that can be loosened by one hand, making it incredibly convenient to use.
